Hmmm...where to begin?! My name is Cassandra, Cassie for short. I was born and rasied in and around the Salt Lake area. I lived in the country for a little while, I've lived in the city, and I've in the mountains; all of which were great. All the different places had there ups and downs, but after all of the experiences that I've had in each place I'd call myself more of a country girl, than the big city type. There is nothing better to me than going fishing, hiking, camping, or fourwheeling! I love getting out of the hustle and bustle and enjoying time in the outdoors with myself, family, and friends. There is just something peaceful about listening to a river run, or the breeze rustle the leaves in the mountains during the spring.
Currently I attending The International Art Institute of Salt Lake City. I'm working on my Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry. I occasionally like to cook, but baking is another story. Pastries, bread, custards, and chocolate is what it's all about. There is nothing better than homemade bread and homemade truffles. I've learned a lot in my experiences at the Art Institute, and I've meet a lot of great people and had some amazing experiences. One of them being just this last Monday the 14th; I had a class called Advanced Restaurant Plated Desserts with Chef Katie. She brought in the Executive Pastry Chef from Grand America, a hotel in the heart of downtown Salt Lake. It's always so great to have different Chefs come into work with us, because each and every chef has had different experiences, and teaches techniques differently. His name was Chef Jeff, and he has had so many different experiences in the industry that it was great to be able to work hand in hand with him.
I am someone that loves to spend as much time as I can with family and friends. They mean the world to me, because when all is said and done they will always be there for me. Here are a few of my loved ones.
This is a peek inside my life. Stay tuned for more :)
